Uniform Shop
The School Uniform Shop is situated in Room 25 and is open every Thursday during term, from 8.00am until 11.15pm.
Volunteers are always welcome to help in the shop on Thursdays. If you are able to help on any Thursday, even for just a couple of hours, please phone Mrs Anita Beauchamp (9419 5651), Po Cheng (9262 5777) or Teddy Bradley (9413 4885). Your help would be greatly appreciated.
Has your child outgrown last year's uniform? Please consider donating any old uniform items in good condition for resale. All profits go back to the school.
Sun Safety at CHS
Chatswood High School encourages broad-brimmed hats as the preferred style of hat for sun safety, however 'baseball' style caps can be worn outside the classroom provided they are either blue, black or white. Logos permitted if discreet. For PE and Sport lessons, sun-screen is available from the PE Department.
There is very strong evidence linking exposure to the sun (especially in periods of high intensity) and the increasing incidence of skin cancer in Australia. There is also strong evidence to indicate that most of the damage done to a person's skin has occurred by the time he or she is 15 years of age.
The Chatswood High School community strongly recommends that students and parents heed the following advice provided by the Cancer Council and the Department of Education and Training.
Students are encouraged to protect their skin by:
- Reducing their exposure to the sun, wherever possible
- Wearing broad-brimmed hats which provide adequate protection to the face, neck and ears
- Wearing clothing (preferably in closely woven fabrics) with collars and longer sleeves which provide effective protection from the sun
- Remaining in the shade whenever possible, particularly during peak UV times
- Using 15+ broad-spectrum sunscreens as an adjunct to other sun protection measures. Sunscreens should be applied before going outside and re-applied frequently as directed by the manufacturer
