Social Sciences
At Chatswood High School our focus is on teaching about management.
In Years 11 and 12 Business Studies is a very popular subject with a business management focus. Legal Studies focuses on the law and the legal system. Geography focuses on the management of environmental and community issues and Economics focuses on the choices faced by business, individuals and governments.
In Years 9 and 10 Geography focuses on the management of geographical issues in Australia and Commerce focuses on the way that business managers, investors, workers, consumers, savers and governments manage their day-to-day tasks. The management of world geographical issues is the focus of Geography in Years 7 and 8.
Outstanding results
Our students have participated in and received outstanding results in the Financial Literacy Nationwide test, Business Studies competition, Business Studies competition.
Special events
Students have the opportunity to participate in field study days to many locations including Canberra and the Snowy Mountains and the Jenolan Caves. There is also regular input into community forums such as APEC.
