Religious Education

Students of all faiths receive support and encouragement at Chatswood High School. Chatswood High School and the local Ministers' Association have appointed Mr Eric McCoy as our religious education teacher for three days full time per week.

Mr McCoy is an integral member of the staff, attending extracurricular activities and participating fully in school life as well as fulfilling her central responsibilities of taking RE classes for years 7-10. Ms Thomas comes to our school with a wealth of experience in this area and with previous science teaching experience in both state and private schools. She receives support in her work from a number of staff members who meet regularly with her.

Junior Catholic classes are taught weekly by lay teachers who have had a long tradition of association with our school.

Special seminars are arranged by the local ministers' association for senior students at regular intervals. These are of a very high standard and often involve professional presenters and multimedia presentations. Many of our senior students have commented independently regarding the helpfulness of these sessions in their thinking.

There is also an ISCF group active at the school.
